Description
This is an “unofficial” member of the Dead Feminists broadsides series, an original letterpress print created in conjunction with our 2018 retrospective exhibition, Words of Action, held at PCAF (Pierce County AIDS Foundation) in Tacoma, Washington.Ms. Labeled features transgender activist and self-identified drag queen Sylvia Rivera. Ms. Rivera was an instrumental and vocal figure in the rise and continuation of the LGBTQ movement, advocating for equality and civil rights for people of all genders and sexual orientations. The print is letterpress printed in hot pink and metallic silver inks, with a design inspired by the façade of the Stonewall Inn in New York City.
To help with their mission of working to end the HIV epidemic in the South Sound, we are donating half of the proceeds of this print to PCAF.
The piece was printed by hand on antique Vandercook presses, on archival, 100% cotton paper, and is signed and numbered by both artists.
Paper size: 8 x 10 inches
